About this ministry: Two evenings each month (the 4th Thursday and Friday) we prepare a meal for about 60 homeless or near homeless senior citizens at Senior Support, Incorporated (18th and Emerson).
To whom is this ministry open? Anyone who is able to cook a meal or bring something from the store is welcome to participate. Those who would like may deliver the food to the center and serve it.
What kind of a commitment is required? Each month a schedule is sent to all those involved with the ministry. Menus are provided. If one wants to participate, he/she must call and sign up for a specific food item. Then it is delivered to the appointed drop-off spot to be taken to the center.

About this ministry: This outreach ministry to the poor provides Fr. Woody’s Ministrythe joy of receiving much needed gifts at Christmastime. At the same time, this ministry offers volunteers the joy of living out the words of Jesus, "Whatever you do for the least of my brothers & sisters, you do to me." Ornament tags with the type of gift needed per resident are picked up by parishioners after masses one weekend in November and parishioners are asked to bring gifts to Campbell Hall by a certain date. Then Fr. Woody’s sends someone to pick up the gifts.
No training necessary and all are welcome to help!
There is a planning meeting & ornament tags can be made at home.
Welcome to the Blessed Sacrament Altar Flower Community! We are a group of volunteers who weekly decorate the church with flower arrangements.
The flowers are needed in the church on Saturdays by 3:00pm in order to be ready for the 4:30pm vigil Mass. The arrangements include one large bouquet in front of the altar and one small bouquet by the Mary statue in Campbell Hall.
Please consider signing up for a week or two and learn the art of flower arranging! Arrangements can be as simple and lovely or as formal and fancy as you like. Be creative and enjoy creating something beautiful for the Lord.
We have experienced volunteers who would be happy to help you. Or, if you are unable to do the arrangements yourself, you could make a donation (suggested amount of $30 to $40) for a particular week, and the volunteers can put an arrangement together for you.
Guidelines and helpful info for flower arrangements:
Fr. Jeff has requested that the flowers be natural (no neon or dyed flowers please).
The vases are located in the cabinets in the Flower Room (across from the Sacristy).
The altar bouquet should be large enough to be seen from a distance. If you are buying pre-arranged bouquets, 2 or 3 bouquets should be sufficient.
The church is open on Saturdays for Adoration. If you have time, consider staying to spend time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.
If you would like assistance, please contact Paula Cooper at 720-202-8431. She is at Blessed Sacrament Church on Saturdays from 7am-10am.
If you would prefer to make a monetary donation, you can do so in one of two ways:
Bring the money to the parish office. Please let Michelle know that you would like to designate the money for the Altar Flower Fund.
Put your donation in the collection basket during Mass. Please place the money in a Flower Offering envelope and your name on the outside so we can thank you at the end of the year!
